Scotland gets dedicated franchise magazine

Scottish entrepreneurs are to benefit from a dedicated guide to franchising this month when Scottish Franchise Magazine hits the news stands. Due on sale on 13th June, SFM will be bundled with The Franchise Magazine, the best selling UK franchise title.

With features written providing specific guidance on investing in a franchise in Scotland and profiles of franchises targeting expansion in the country, Scottish Franchise Magazine will be available in leading newsagents including WHSmith and at the National Franchise Exhibition which will take place in Glasgow on the 13th June.

Companies based in Scotland who are interested in franchising their business are encouraged to contact the regional office of Scottish Franchise Magazine publisher Franchise Development Services. Headed by experienced Franchise Consultant Tony Urwin, FDS Northern is seeking to assist successful business concepts to develop national franchise expansion programmes utilising the company's proven franchise consultancy services.

"Scotland's supportive approach towards small business means it is the best place in the UK for starting a business," says Tony. "Our recent research found that 78 per cent of business people polled said franchising is the "safest" way to start up a business."

"We are expecting a lot of interest at the Glasgow exhibition as potential entrepreneurs are cottoning on to franchising because they can buy into an established business model with a proven track record rather than going it alone. There is a still a healthy market for people wanting to run their own business and franchising offers a sense of safety and security - which is hugely reassuring for people who want to start their own firm."
